 “One day a small gap appeared in the cocoon, through which the butterfly had to appear. A boy, who accidentally passed by, stopped and watched how the butterfly was trying to get out of the cocoon. It took a lot of time, the butterfly was trying very hard, and the gap was as little as before. It seemed that the power would leave the butterfly soon.

The boy decided to help the butterfly. He took a penknife and cut the cocoon. The butterfly  immediately got out, but its body was weak and feeble, and the wings were barely moving.

The boy continued to watch the butterfly, thinking that now its wings would spread and it would fly. However, that did not happen.  The rest of its life the butterfly had to drag its weak body and wings that weren’t spread. It was unable to fly because the boy did not realize that an effort to enter through the narrow gap of the cocoon was necessary for the butterfly, so that the life-giving fluid would move from the body to the butterfly’s wings and that the butterfly could fly. Life forced the butterfly to leave its shell hardly so that it would become stronger and would be able to grow and develop.

Daniel 3:16-18 Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego replied to him, “King Nebuchadnezzar, we do not need to defend ourselves before you in this matter. If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God we serve is able to deliver us from it, and he will deliver us from Your Majesty’s hand.  But even if he does not, we want you to know, Your Majesty, that we will not serve your gods or worship the image of gold you have set up.” NIV

Daniel 3:24-25 Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego trusted God in the fire.   Then King Nebuchadnezzar leaped to his feet in amazement and asked his advisers, “Weren’t there three men that we tied up and threw into the fire?” They replied, “Certainly, Your Majesty.”  He said, “Look! I see four men walking around in the fire, unbound and unharmed, and the fourth looks like a son of the gods.” NIV

There are those who say that the fourth man in the fire was the pre-incarnate Son of God---Jesus Christ.  Yes Jesus is always with us in the fire and in the storms of life.  He will never, never leave us or forsake us as long as we call on Him and trust Him.

Mark 4:39-40 He got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, “Quiet! Be still!” Then the wind died down and it was completely calm.  He said to his disciples, “Why are you so afraid? Do you still have no faith?” NIV

Jesus is the quiet in our storms.  We need to have faith that He will still the storm but just like Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, He will also be with us in the fire and even though we may not always be delivered from the fire, He will help us get through the fire or the storm.

“Over the years God ingrained in me the reality of my true identity and position in Christ. He began to show me the reality of New Covenant spiritual warfare. As believers we are not fighting a spiritual battle for victory. We are fighting from victory. There is a big difference! I began to really see what Christ accomplished on the cross. Col 2:15 says, “God disarmed the principalities and powers that were ranged against us and made a bold display and public example of them, in triumphing over them in Him and in it [the cross].” The enemy is truly defeated! Eph 1:21 teaches we are now seated in heavenly places in Christ Jesus, far above all power and principality and every name that can be named in this age and in the age to come. Through the blood of Christ we have been given access to live from a third heaven reality. A reality of victory, love, joy, peace and constant overcoming spiritual power. We are not under demonic forces trying to breakthrough up to where God is. FIRST HEAVEN:

The first heaven is where birds and planes fly.  According to NASA, it extends 62 miles above the earth.

 “The first heaven — the one God created when He created the heaven and the earth on day one.  The second heaven (firmament) — the heaven God called into being (“let there be”) and put “in the midst of the waters,” with water above and below it. And the Third Heaven, which has always existed and is the dwelling place of God and all the heavenly host.” (Three Heavens?  Where is the Third Heaven? Nehemiah 9:6 [And Ezra said],“You are the Lord, You alone; You have made the heavens, The heaven of heavens with all their host (the heavenly bodies),The earth and everything that is on it, The seas and everything that is in them. You give life to all of them, And the heavenly host is bowing down [in worship] to You. NIV

Heb 4:14  Inasmuch then as we [believers] have a great High Priest who has [already ascended and] passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession [of faith and cling tenaciously to our absolute trust in Him as Savior].  NIV

Eph 4:10  He who descended is the very same as He who also has ascended high above all the heavens, that He [His presence] might fill all things [that is, the whole universe]).  NIV

 

SECOND HEAVEN

The second heaven is comprised of the planets, galaxies and stars.

 Gen 1:14, 16, 19 Then God said, “Let there be light-bearers (sun, moon, stars) in the expanse of the heavens to separate the day from the night, and let them be useful for signs (tokens) [of God’s provident care], and for marking seasons, days, and years;  God made the two great lights—the greater light (the sun) to rule the day, and the lesser light (the moon) to rule the night; He made the [galaxies of] stars also [that is, all the amazing wonders in the heavens].  And there was evening and there was morning, a fourth day. NIV

Gen 15:5 And the Lord brought Abram outside [his tent into the night] and said, “Look now toward the heavens and count the stars—if you are able to count them.” Then He said to him, “So [numerous] shall your descendants be

 There is spiritual warfare here on the earth but the Bible tells us that there is spiritual warfare in the second heaven. Daniel 10:12-14 Then he continued, “Do not be afraid, Daniel. Since the first day that you set your mind to gain understanding and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard, and I have come in response to them. ¹³ But the prince of the Persian kingdom resisted me twenty-one days. Then Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me, because I was detained there with the king of Persia. ¹⁴ Now I have come to explain to you what will happen to your people in the future, for the vision concerns a time yet to come.” NIV

THIRD HEAVEN

 The Third heaven is where the throne of God is.  It is where the heavenly hosts dwell.

Isa 6:1-4   In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw [in a vision] the Lord sitting on a throne, high and exalted, with the train of His royal robe filling the [most holy part of the] temple. ² Above Him seraphim (heavenly beings) stood; each one had six wings: with two wings he covered his face, with two wings he covered his feet, and with two wings he flew. ³ And one called out to another, saying, “Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lord of hosts; The whole earth is filled with His glory.”⁴ And the foundations of the thresholds trembled at the voice of him who called out, and the temple was filling with smoke. THIRD HEAVEN PEOPLE

“This is a pivotal and important season for the Body of Christ.  This is your day of destiny!  The Kingdom of Heaven is invading earth.  He needs His people to be led by the Spirit.  So set aside old agendas, and pick up God’s agenda.  He is calling us up to be 3^rd Heaven people.  He is teaching us how to navigate the heavenlies.  We are a Supernatural people! 

So many people are looking for God, and not sure where to find Him.  But when we choose to live in the Glory, people can see it!  They experience it!  They not only experience the Glory, but they experience God’s love.”  (Mike & CK Thompson “Third Heaven People!  Embrace Your Day! 2012)

THIRD HEAVEN AUTHORITY

Third heaven authority is praying from victory.  It is spiritual authority in which we, as believers, have over the enemy. (the devil)  We are seated at the Right Hand of the Father through Christ Jesus!

Ephesians 2:6 And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus,

1.      Pray in obedience to the Word of God in the “Name of Jesus.”

2.      Pray while consciously seeing yourself above looking down on the situation, the circumstances and praying for things down below.

3.       Yield to the Holy Spirit’s ability to catch you away in the Spirit with dreams, visions, anointings, the Glory of God and then pray from there. (Teaching from the video, “Third Heaven” by Mike Thompson)

What is a “Godwink?”  “SQuire Rushnell and his wife, Louise DuArt, are convinced that God sends us messages and signals every day. It’s just a matter of paying attention. For example, if someone winks at you and you aren’t looking, that doesn’t mean they didn’t wink, only that you missed it. Things we chalk up to coincidence or dismiss as happenstance may just be God communicating with us. This is a term the authors have dubbed Godwinks.”  (Book Reporter Reviewed by Lynda Lee Schab on January 16, 2013)

I am pretty sure that most of us can look back at our lives and remember Godwinks.  Maybe it was a smile from a stranger that lightened our day or a phone call from a friend when you needed an encouraging word or even a supernatural incident that you cannot explain.  The next two stories are Godwink stories from my own life.

Dogs of Protection

When my husband, Marty, was a young boy, he decided to walk home from school on his own because he had gotten a tear in his pants.  He had always taken a city bus and did not know how to get back home or how far it was (later learned it was 4 miles as the crow flies).

As he started walking, he noticed a big beige, white dog who came up to him and walked beside him and Marty followed him.  He went through the downtown area, the outskirts of the city and along the way, other dogs came up and surrounded him.  They went through highway traffic, construction zones and eventually back to the Air Force base where he lived.  The dogs stayed with him all the way through and he was never stopped by anyone even at the gate at the base.  He followed the dogs all the way up to his house with the big beige dog leading.  He got home and his mom answered the door surprised to see him home and all the dogs with him. 

The beige dog went into the house before him as the other dogs disappeared.  When his mom went to look for the beige dog that had come in with him, she couldn’t find it and there was only one entrance to the house!! 

His mom always believed that the dog that accompanied St. Martin de Porres was sent to protect and guard her son Martin.

An Angel Named Chaz

In April of 2009 my husband and I decided to get away for a little while and we went up to Hannigan’s Meadow which is over 9,000 feet elevation here in Arizona.  We decided to go to the lodge to have dinner that same day and there was a man playing his guitar and singing.  We enjoyed the music and then he started to play “out of the blue”  “The Wedding Song” which was sung at our wedding.  We were really surprised. 

Talking to him later, he gave us a CD of his music and then wrote these words, “Be well, safe travels Marty and Marcella and thanks for being.”  Before he wrote this he looked up to the sky as if listening to someone and then he wrote the message.  Why is this so unusual?  It is because 6 days prior after Communion at church the Lord told me, “It is more important to be, than to do.”  After I came home, not having told my husband Marty what the Lord had told me, he confirmed this message when he said, “we need to be.”

Was Chaz an angel?  We are not sure to this day but that day he confirmed a message sent from God to lighten our load and rest in God and be who we are created to be and seek after Him and enjoy each other and not get bogged down by every day troubles or worries or concerns.  I am not 100% sure Chaz was an angel but if he was a mortal, God uses all of us when He needs to convey a message.  We still like to think that Chaz was our “angel.”
