WHAT IS REST?

What is rest?  According to the dictionary it means, “The act or state of ceasing from work, activity, or motion; quiet.”  It also means, “peace, ease or refreshment.”

The following are scriptures about rest:

And God blessed the seventh day and declared it holy, because it was the day when He rested from all His work of creation.  Genesis 2:3

My soul finds rest in God alone; my salvation comes from him. He alone is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will never be shaken. ~Psalm 62:1-2

Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. ~Psalm 91:1

Return to your rest, my soul, for the Lord has been good to you. ~Psalm 116:7

Be still in the presence of the LORD, and wait patiently for Him to act. Don’t worry about evil    people who prosper or fret about their wicked schemes.  Psalm 37:7 (NLT)

Let the beloved of the Lord rest secure in him, for he shields him all day long, and the one the Lord loves rests between his shoulders.”  Deuteronomy 33:12 (NIV)

On August 10, 2016 the Lord gave me the following words:  “Child of mine, rehearsing the future is futile.  Rely and rest and be content in Me moment by moment.  Refresh your spirit in My Word each day.  Rest in Me.  Live in Me.  Be filled with My peace and directions from My Word and My presence will precede you.  Watch, pray, and rest in Me for I am the author and finisher of Your faith. (Hebrews 12:2)  Watch, trust, rest for in so doing My Shekinah Glory will be made manifest in you and through you.  Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia!”

Some have said that when we work, God rests.  When we rest (in God) God works!!  Why did God rest after He had created everything?  I believe because He was finished and He wanted to enjoy His creation.  After a painter paints a masterpiece, would he or she not stop and admire the beautiful painting?

When we completely surrender to God, He will do what only He can do.  Yes, we need to do our part for the most part depending on the need, but when we rest in God, He takes over and does it His way.  I can’t tell you how many times I have prayed to the Lord about something and I have said these words, “Lord, I rest in You,” and the problem many times worked out without any intervention on my part.  Sometimes it was a small problem and sometimes it was a much bigger problem.

 So don’t be restless when you encounter a problem.  If you rest, less, in Him, then you won’t find true rest.  In other words, resting in God means that you trust Him completely and you will find peace and strength to carry any burden that you are carrying.  Remember the scripture,
For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”   Matthew 11:30 (KJV)

Dear Father,

This world seems to move faster and faster
And I’m trying to keep up.
But God, in the whirlwind,
Instead I get caught up.
Like an unbeatable force it pulls me in
But I know eventually I cannot win.
I must learn to rest in your perfect peace
And though good, let all endeavors cease.
Oh that my feet would mimic your pace.
So your joy would be set on my face.
Help me, Jesus, to slow down when you would.
Help me, Lord, to rest as I should.
Thank you for loving me just as I am;
Thank you that rest is part of your plan.

Rest From Anxiety by Ashley Nicole

Father, I pray that You fill me with Your presence in this moment as I put aside worries, anxieties, and striving and pick up Your rest. I pray that You would grant me Your peace as I stop wondering about the how’s and why’s of life. Help me to remain focused solely on Your goodness. I seek after You and You alone. I surrender my heart and soul to You. I surrender my plans and my goals and my aspirations and lay them at the altar. I choose to seek those things that You place before me. I choose to seek Your kingdom. I know that You will provide everything I need to do Your will. Amen

                                                                 IT’S NOT OVER

Have you ever heard the expression, “It’s not over until it’s over”?  I have been hearing this expression from so many people.  It is true.  So many times, even in our own lives when things seem so dark, we give up, lose hope and “throw in the towel” only to find out that the answer to our prayer was just around the corner and all we needed to do was just rest and wait on God. 

In the Book of Exodus after the Israelites were freed, by the hand of God, Moses led them out of Egypt.  When the Israelites came to the Red Sea they became terrified because the Egyptian army was coming after them and they had nowhere to escape except through the Red Sea. They complained to Moses but Moses told them not to fear and have faith in God because Almighty God would fight for them.  The Lord told Moses to stretch out his rod and the sea parted giving them safe passage and after they were safe on the other side Moses raised his rod again and the Egyptian army drowned.

With a small stone David defeated Goliath when all seemed lost.  Everyone was afraid of the giant who was at least 9 feet tall.  It seemed like everything would be lost but David put his faith and trust in God and David killed the giant.  The Philistines ran when they saw their hero, Goliath dead but David stood up to something that seemed impossible.

King Darius was the ruler over Babylon.  Daniel served the God of Israel and was not going to bow down to other gods, so he continued to pray three times to God Almighty and because of this he was thrown in the lion’s den.  Even though everything seemed hopeless, Daniel trusted God and when asked by the King if his God had rescued him, he said that an angel of the Lord shut the mouths of the lions.  After this King Darius issued a decree that all people should reverence and fear the God of Daniel.

King Nebuchadnezzar, another King of Babylon, required all to bow down and worship a golden image and Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego refused to do that so they were put into the fiery furnace.  They trusted in God to deliver them from the fire.  Then King Nebuchadnezzar leaped to his feet in amazement and asked his advisers, “Weren’t there three men that we tied up and threw into the fire?” They replied, “Certainly, Your Majesty.” He said, “Look! I see four men walking around in the fire, unbound and unharmed, and the fourth looks like a son of the gods.”  Daniel 3:24-25 (NIV)    Many people believed that this was Jesus who is the Son of God!  God did not fail them.  He was there with them just when it appeared that all hope was gone.

During the time of Christ a man named Lazarus was raised from the dead by Jesus.   Now a man named Lazarus was sick. He was from Bethany, the village of Mary and her sister Martha. (This Mary, whose brother Lazarus now lay sick, was the same one who poured perfume on the Lord and wiped his feet with her hair.)  So the sisters sent word to Jesus, “Lord, the one you love is sick.”  When he heard this, Jesus said, “This sickness will not end in death. No, it is for God’s glory so that God’s Son may be glorified through it.”  Now Jesus loved Martha and her sister and Lazarus.  So when he heard that Lazarus was sick, he stayed where he was two more days, ⁷ and then he said to his disciples, “Let us go back to Judea.” John 11:1-7 (NIV)

 Then Jesus said, “Did I not tell you that if you believe, you will see the glory of God?”

 So they took away the stone. Then Jesus looked up and said, “Father, I thank you that you have heard me.  I knew that you always hear me, but I said this for the benefit of the people standing here, that they may believe that you sent me.”

 When he had said this, Jesus called in a loud voice, “Lazarus, come out!”  The dead man came out, his hands and feet wrapped with strips of linen, and a cloth around his face.

Jesus said to them, “Take off the grave clothes and let him go.”  John 11:40-44 (NIV)

When Jesus died on the cross I’m sure the demons rejoiced but little did they realize that it was NOT OVER!!!!  Jesus died on the cross to take away our sins and rose on the third day and conquered death to give us eternal life with Him forever and ever!!

The following is an example of one of seventeen miraculous deliverances from defeat in many battles that the Israeli army fought.

 “During the Independence War, Ira Rappaport’s Israeli platoon fought the Jordanian military for Mount Zion and found themselves surrounded by hundreds with only twenty five bullets left. With a sad end seemingly near, the men agreed to go out with a bang and readied themselves to make good use of every last bullet. Then, just when the small platoon were about to face the inevitable, something incredible happened. The Jordanian soldiers dropped their weapons and began suddenly running away, screaming “ABRAHAM!” Several years later, Ira would come across a familiar face with an unlikely answer, as to what had actually occurred on that miraculous day. This was a former Jordanian soldier who had fought against Ira on Mount Zion. According to him, his army all witnessed a vision of Abraham defending the Jews in the sky above the Israeli platoon and had no choice, but to drop their weapons.” (Israeli Defense Forces: 17 Miraculous Israeli Military Victories May 29, 2015)

No, it is not over until God says that it is over.  So don’t get disappointed.  You need to keep the faith.  When you have done all you can do, then God will show up as only He can!  God is on the throne and His authority and power will never end.  His sovereign will, will be accomplished no matter what happens.  It’s not over until God says it’s over!!

“Waiting for the FULFILLMENT of the promised Rescue Operation has been a CHALLENGE to your FAITH, but you have responded by STRENGTHENING yourself in My PRESENCE and My LOVE. Your FAITH ROOTS have grown DEEP and UNSHAKEABLE. You are no longer MOVED by circumstances—you MOVE circumstances with your FAITH-FILLED DECLARATIONS and DECREES. You have found a place of PEACE with Me in the midst of a HEATED BATTLE, and you are continually REFRESHED in My presence. It is not so for those partnered with DARKNESS. The enemy cannot give them PEACE or COMFORT because he HAS NONE to give. Those partnered with EVIL are on a daily ROLLER COASTER. Because they have no SOURCE of REAL COMFORT (only FALSE comforters), they will continue to be WORN DOWN INTERNALLY, and OUTWARDLY you will begin to SEE THEM SWEAT. All it takes is for one of them to FOLD, and the whole HOUSE of CARDS will COME DOWN. “Unrest, unrest.  All will be put to the test.  The manifestation of My glory will be the story!  So kick up your heals and rejoice, for the coming months will be a choice----A choice between evil and good.  My children you need to be understood.  No matter the escalation.  No matter the crimes.  God the Almighty Father will rescue you in the appointed time!”

 

Just like Daniel in the Lion’s den and Meshach, Shadrach and Abednego in the fiery furnace, God delivered them from their destruction.  God will deliver us, His children, from the assault of the enemy and rescue us in His perfect timing because God has a Plan and just like the Israelites at the Red Sea, God will rescue us at the appointed time!!

WHO LEFT THE DOOR OPEN?

 

“The SECRET PLANS, the TRUE CHARACTER, and the DISGUSTING DEEDS of the ones partnered with darkness are being LAID BARE before the world. They CANNOT UNDERSTAND how these EXPOSURES are happening. It’s like SOMEONE LEFT THE DOOR OPEN on their SECRET MEETINGS, and their plans have LEAKED OUT to the public. This is the YEAR OF THE DOOR. For My own, it is a year of OPPORTUNITY and stepping into the FULLNESS of the CALL on your life and into a world where I ABUNDANTLY SUPPLY all your needs. But for the darkness, it is a YEAR OF EXPOSURE because it is I WHO HAVE OPENED THE DOOR into their SECRET meetings and into their PERVERSE lifestyles. This kind of WIDESPREAD EXPOSURE has never happened to them before. Your PRAYERS, DECREES, and DECLARATIONS that I EXPOSE, EXPOSE, EXPOSE the darkness are being answered, as I FLING ONE DOOR AFTER ANOTHER OPEN on their DARK and EVIL plans and deeds. The year of the OPEN DOOR is a BLESSING for My children of Light, but it is an OPEN DOOR of JUDGMENT and JUSTICE to those partnered with evil. Watch, as I OPEN ONE DOOR AFTER ANOTHER into their HIGHLY SECRET WORLD, and I LAY IT BARE FOR ALL TO SEE. They will ALL be EXPOSED, and they will REAP what they have SOWN. “ I, the Lord, this day say to you, My children, do you see it? Do you see that the tides have turned? The winds of change are here. Do you see that more information is coming out day after day? Do you see that the momentum has shifted? The momentum is on the side of truth, the side of life, the side of deliverance, the side of freedom. Do you see it? 

Do you see, My children? The volcano is about to erupt- a volcano of truth, evidence upon evidence, and exposure upon exposure, one right after another. Do you see it? Do you see the flood of truth coming? It is coming like a rapid flood, flowing and flowing, like one flood after another.  

In Noah's day, I filled this Earth with water, and it cleansed it of evil. I promised My children I would never flood the Earth like that again, but I am flooding the Earth with My truth. My truth is filling this Earth, and it will destroy the power of the wicked. Yes, truth is coming. Like I said, more proof is coming. The tides have turned. The winds have shifted. The momentum is on your side. I told you the winds of change are here. They are pushing you up, pushing you out, pushing you over every enemy and all their schemes, plots, and plans. 

Do you see how they are falling apart? Do you see their narrative slipping and failing? Do you see them panicking? No matter how much the news media has lied, as I have told you in past prophetic Words, they have to tell the truth. They cannot hide it anymore. Just wait! Wait for the shocking revelation, truth, and evidence that are about to pour out. They will start to shout. They have to speak the truth, but they do not want to. My children, there is a shout of refusal to tell the truth in the enemies' camps, but they are going to have to. 

But there is also a shout in My camp with My children. There is a shout of truth. There is a shout of freedom because there is nothing the enemy can do to deceive you any longer. They cannot keep their power. They cannot keep their narrative alive. They cannot keep the airwaves or the frequencies. No! The tides have turned. The momentum has shifted. A shift of power- political and spiritual power is shifting and turning. And while the enemies are weakening, I am strengthening you.” (www.jgminternational.org )
