THE ISSACHAR ANOINTING

“In these trying and confusing days of covid, mask mandates, and the shot, don’t you wonder what life will look like in the next few years?
In 1 Chronicles 12:32, we come across this cryptic passage, “of the sons of Issachar who had understanding of the times, to know what Israel ought to do…” The context of the verse is important. Saul is the king of Israel, but a young outlaw shepherd boy named David is being raised up to rival him. The sons of Issachar are the first of the tribes in Israel to support and fight with David. Their decision was based on an “understanding of the times.” The sons of Issachar had an uncanny and unconventional ability to discern what God was doing. I would call this “The Issachar Anointing.”
The Issachar Anointing is that special anointing from the Holy Spirit, given to certain people of God, to understand the times and seasons we are living in, and subsequently, know what God wants us to do. It is an intuitive sense coupled with the voice of God, leading people to do the right thing, often during trying times.
The tribe of Issachar is very interesting. They were especially used of God as discerning fighters, who understood the context of Israel’s seasons. Some two hundred years before David, God used the leaders of Issachar to back a woman judge (Deborah), fight for her, and win. Like their support of David, it was probably controversial. It even seems in another one of those obscure passages, that her commander in battle, Barak, fought for her because the sons of Issachar were in the army.” (Steve Holt January 27, 2022 “The Issachar Anointing”)
Five Characteristics of the Issachar Anointing
1. Intercessory prayer warrior---Issachars recognize what is happening in the spirit. They see the corruption and its connection to the times. With that discernment and understanding, they pray. They pray for family members, neighborhoods, communities, counties, states, and nations. They intercede and pray intercessory prayers, repenting on behalf of the people and petitioning in the Courts of Heaven. Those who carry the Issachar anointing are watchmen. They see and are attuned to the dangers that are coming.
2. Spiritually awake and alert—Issachars do not run and hide. They rise and shine. They are strong and alert in the Lord. They are not lulled to sleep by lies, turning their heads to what man, media, and manipulative entities have to say. Rather, those with the Issachar anointing are strong in the Lord because they focus on Him and His Word. The Lord is the anchor of their souls—their minds, wills, and emotions. They fortify their hearts and are aware of the spiritual atmosphere around them (unlike Samson’s fall, for example).
3. Understand the times— Those with the Issachar anointing understand chronological time and understand specific time. They understand the spiritual and political climates and timing. The times we live in can either cause us to come into agreement with fear or faith. God is pouring out Issachar anointing, releasing Kingdom discernment and knowledge about what to do for the times we are living in.
4. Act when wickedness is released—Issachars take action. They “do” and activate the words of God. In other words, when wickedness comes against the covenant of God, those with the Issachar anointing are empowered by the Spirit to take action and do great exploits. They do not stand by complaining and criticizing. They understand there will be opposition, but they see the opposition as a road to refinement.
5. Has a radical devotion to Yeshua and the things of God—The Lord is rising up those with the Issachar anointing because He desires for His Bride to draw near to Him, to be anointed with power. He invites us to tap into the covenant relationship and be radically devoted to Him. In exchange, He releases authority upon us. Those with the Issachar anointing accept the invitation and receive His power. (Curt Landry Ministries February 24, 2022 “Five Characteristics of The Issachar Anointing
Issachar’s are…
- Intercessory prayer warriors: They pray powerful prayers in the courts of heaven for the nations, communities, families and the church.
- Spiritually awake and alert: They do not run and hide when times and seasons are tough. Rather they arise and shine.
- Act when wickedness is released: They don’t sit back but are doers of the Word.
- Radically devoted to the things of God: They carry out great exploits for God.
The Lord is pouring out a fresh anointing so that His people will know and understand the times. (Curt Landry September 28, 2022 “How To Position Yourself To Receive The Issachar Anointing”)
