WHO AM I?

                                                       WHO AM I?

I am created in God’s image.  I am not a mistake.  God chose me from the beginning of time to be His child.  Psalm 139: “Your eyes saw my unformed substance, and in Your book all the days (of my life) were written before ever they took shape, when as yet there was none of them.” (Joyce Meyers Amplified Bible)

“God created me to live a life of good works.  He gave me His Holy Spirit to empower me, guide me and comfort me to live in a world that wants to kill, steal and destroy.  I need to be the Christ that others have never seen or heard.  I need to be a walking and talking Gospel so that others will notice and be drawn to me and in so doing, I can be a testament to His love and saving grace.

Someone once said, “Jesus came down to earth to become like us so that we could become like Him.”  Yes, I think that is so.  Jesus came to save us from our sins through His death on a cross and Resurrection but He was the perfect example of who we are supposed to be.  He, having gone through temptation, heartache, loss, pain and extreme suffering, can understand what we go through when we go through various trials and suffering.  

God does not see me as I am but what I will be in Him.  He always sees the finished product.  Not what we are at the moment, but what He has fashioned us to be.  Just like the carpenter who sees the finished table or chair in the broken and splintered piece of wood or the sculptor who sees the David in the slab of marble or the potter who sees the beautiful vase in the clay.  We are all a work in progress and our identity in Christ is built each day as we surrender our will and our lives to the Father Who created us to be salt and light.”  (“Stolen Identity: Plan of the Evil One” by Marcella Ward)

 

 

BOBLICAL IDENTITY DECLARATIONS: (Hope Ministries, June 10, 2015) 
    

1.      I am chosen in Christ before the foundation of the world that I may be holy and blameless before the Father.  Ephesians 1:4

2.     I am blessed with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ.  Ephesians 1:3

3.     I have redemption through Jesus Christ’s blood and the forgiveness of sins.  Ephesians 1:7, Colossians 1:14

4.     God raised me up in heavenly places to sit with Him in Jesus Christ.  Ephesians 2:6

5.     I am God’s masterpiece.  He created me anew in Christ Jesus, so I can do the good things He planned for me long ago.  Ephesians 2:10

6.     I am strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man according to the riches of His glory.  Ephesians 3:16

7.     Christ dwells in my heart by faith.  I am rooted and grounded in love.  Ephesians 3:17

8.     I have the mind of Christ.  1 Corinthians 2:16

9.     I am in Christ Jesus, and therefore I am a new creation.  Old things are passed away and all things are become new.  II Corinthians 5:17

                                THIS IS WHO I AM!!

Prayer for Salvation:

Heavenly Father, I know that you created me in Your image. 

I believe that Jesus died and rose again.

I ask forgiveness for all of my sins.

I forgive others who have hurt me.

Jesus, I ask you to come into my heart.

I will love you and serve you all the days of my life.
