CHAPTER ONE

                                                             AI---AM WHO I AM?

“One goal of AI (Artificial Intelligence) is to create an ‘other’ in our own image.  That image will necessarily be partial; thus we must determine what it is in ourselves that computers must possess or demonstrate what it is in ourselves that computes must possess or demonstrate to be considered our “mind children.”  The question of what we humans might share with such an other has been examined by Christian theologians through the concept of the image of God, in which, according to Genesis 1, human beings were created.  Is this image that humans share with God related to the image we wish to share with our own creation in AI?”

Are we attempting to create other beings in our own image?  Dan Brown, the author of the best-selling Da Vinci Code, has collaborated with philologist Frieddrich Nietzsche in announcing the death of God, stating that “God cannot survive science…Our need for the exterior God that sits up there and judges us…will diminish and eventually disappear.”

We will embark on a journey throughout this book to look at the schemes and agenda of the enemy, the evil one, to destroy our identity that was given at the beginning of time when God established that we are “created in His image.”  From Adam and Eve, Noah, Abraham, to Jesus Himself, the devil has attempted to steal who we are by his lies and manipulation.  Let’s look at what the Bible, the Holy Word of God, has to say about our image.
