THE FINGERPRINT OF GOD

Did you know that you are so unique and special that God imprinted a mark on your fingers and thumbs that identify you like no one else? He even wrote a book about you before you were even born---Psalm 139:
13 For you created my inmost being;
you
knit me together in my mother’s womb.
14 I praise you because I am fearfully and
wonderfully made;
your
works are wonderful,
I
know that full well.
15 My frame was not hidden from you
when
I was made in the secret place,
when
I was woven together in the depths of the earth.
16 Your
eyes saw my unformed body;
all
the days ordained for me were written in your book
before
one of them came to be.
17 How precious to me are your thoughts,[a] God!
How
vast is the sum of them!
18 Were I to count them,
they
would outnumber the grains of sand—
when
I awake, I am still with you.
“FINGERPRINT: impression made by the papillary ridges on the ends of the fingers and thumbs. Fingerprints afford an infallible means of personal identification, because the ridge arrangement on every finger of every human being is unique and does not alter with growth or age. Fingerprints serve to reveal an individual’s true identity despite personal denial, assumed names, or changes in personal appearance resulting from age, disease, plastic surgery, or accident. The practice of utilizing fingerprints as a means of identification, referred to as dactyloscopy, is an indispensable aid to modern law enforcement.” (J. Edgar Hoover April 14, 2023)
“[T]he firmament sheweth [God’s] handywork” (Psalm 19:1). That is, it contains identifying marks that leave no doubt that God’s hand brought it into existence. To understand this truth, one need not look any further than the ridges on the tips of his fingers. These ridges are arranged in a pattern that produces a specific and unique identifying mark. God, in His infinite wisdom, gave mankind a print that identifies man’s work as his own. This print is often used in a court of law to prove a person’s guilt or innocence. It only stands to reason that when God works with His hands, He also leaves an identifying mark.” (The Fingerprint Of God by Andrew Ray LearntheBible.org)
“When a person trusts Christ as personal Saviour, God’s fingerprint will appear in his life. This does not necessarily mean that others will be able to visibly see that he is saved, but it implies that God has left His mark which serves to identify that person as belonging to Him. In John 10, the Lord Jesus promised that He knows His sheep.
My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: (John 10:27)
In addition to this, the Bible emphasizes that there ought also to be some visible signs of the Lord’s fingerprint in the lives of His sheep.
Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. (2 Corinthians 5:17)
A man who “passe[s] from death unto life” (1 John 3:14) ought to bear the marks of this transformation. Just as any good parents hold their newborn baby putting their fingerprints on the new child, so God the Father places His fingerprint on those He has redeemed.” (The Fingerprint Of God by Andrew Ray LearntheBible.org)
The fingerprint of God is all around us in the beauty of creation; in the miracle of birth; in the lives of the heroes of the faith; in His Holy Word; in the loving hand stretched out to comfort; in the warmth of a hug or in the smile of a stranger.
You are very special in God’s eyes and He has a special plan and purpose for your life written in a book in heaven. Let God open up your heart to receive Jesus as your Lord and Savior, because even Jesus, the Son of God, had a special and unique fingerprint that you share as a child of God!
